THE total number of deaths due to coronavirus in Cornish hospitals has remained static in the latest figures released this afternoon.

The total of 86 has not risen since last Monday, May 18, when it increased by one from 85.

The county has seen 60 deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust and 26 at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The NHS England figures that are released each day only cover deaths in hospitals.

Total deaths in Cornwall, to include hospitals, care homes and private residences, has been put at a minimum of 174 by the Office for National Statistics.

There are currently 573 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall.
