Families in Cornwall are benefitting from plentiful baby supplies thanks to a nappy cream company supporting The Hygiene Bank Cornwall.

As part of the Metanium community campaign, a donation of Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment was given to the charitable organisation based in Redruth, which will distribute the supplies to its community partners to support parents in need.

Alison Marsh, project co-ordinator at The Hygiene Bank Cornwall, said: “Supporting The Hygiene Bank is a simple way to support not just one organisation, but many grassroots initiatives across our region that aid families in crisis or in need.

"We sent half of the supplies directly to a local charity Wild Young Parents Project. WILD work with young parents, children and babies in the most deprived areas of Cornwall.

"We then split the remaining between three food banks (Truro, Hayle and Camborne/Pool/Redruth (CPR) and West Cornwall Women's Aid.

“The Metanium campaign has been wonderful in providing us with a nappy-rash prevention cream which will be valuable in supporting parents who are locked in poverty or find themselves in times of crisis with restricted options and having to make impossible choices between heating their home, paying their rent, feeding their family or keeping clean."

Amy Barker, Metanium brand manager, added: “Once we heard about the fantastic work that the volunteers at The Hygiene Bank Cornwall do for parents in need in the area, we were enthusiastic to support them.

"Metanium has been taking care of babies' bums since 1982, with a specifically formulated range of products to cover every stage of nappy rash, helping keep parents and babies as happy as can be."
