THERE has been no increase in the number of coronavirus deaths in Cornish hospitals in Sunday's NHS England figures.

The total remains at 89.

Of those, 63 deaths have taken place at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust and 26 at the hospitals under the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The figures only include those who have lost their lives in hospitals.

The most recent Office for National Statistics information puts the overall Cornwall total for deaths in hospitals, care homes and the community at a minimum of 190.

Across England, a further 85 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,614.

Patients were aged between 56 and 100 years old. Of those, six – aged between 56 and 82 – had no known underlying health condition, NHS England said.

Their families have been informed.

In the south west as a whole, four further deaths have been registered.

To date there have been 576 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
