Kimberley's Independent Estate Agents of Falmouth and Truro took part in the annual quad bike challenge organised by the Helston and Lizard Rotary Club at the ATV centre, Blackwater on Remembrance Sunday.

The annual event which has now been running for six years and raised in excess of £40,000 generated £10,000 this year.

Kimberleys was one of nine local teams that entered the competition and came a meritable second. They raised £1,328. With other businesses sponsorship adding to the pot, a grand total of £10,000 was raised.

The money will be shared with the Meningitis Research Fund and other local charities.

Owner of Kimberley's, and former president of the rotary club Steve Kimberley said: "The day was great fun with a very competitive edge between the teams, we came a creditable second out of the nine entered and just 28 seconds behind the winners.

"The main aim, as always, is to generate funds for local charities and each year it just gets better and better".

Helston Lizard Rotary Club is well under way in planning their next fund raiser in April 2008 which is the An Resek Hellys challenge, a 10k mixed terrain race.
