FALMOUTH'S children's play areas will reopen next week in line with the relaxation of coronavirus restrictions.

Earlier this week the Government announced that lockdown would be further relaxed from July 4, with venues such as pubs, restaurants and museums allowed to open for the first time since March, as long as they follow guidelines put in place in relation to social distancing.

Falmouth Town Council has now said that playgrounds will reopen from next Saturday.

A spokesperson said: "The council, in line with government advice, will be reopening its play areas.

"Kimberley Park play area will be open from Saturday, July 4 (the tree house will remain closed), the Bowly and Trescobeas from Monday, July 6.

"Users of these play areas and their parents will be asked to give each other room, observe social distancing guidelines, follow the routes and keep their hands cleaned.

"Please also dispose of your rubbish sensibly."
