A popular pasty shop in Helston has announced its reopening date - and there's not much longer to wait.

Philps in Meneage Street will be back serving customers as of tomorrow, June 30, from 10am.

Shop supervisor Kensa Collins said the shop would be open on reduced hours this week, from 10am to 3pm each day, with the salad bar open 10am to 2pm.

However, she added: "We'll just play it by ear this week. If we're busy we'll back to normal hours of 8.30am to 4pm."

Pre-orders for pasties, salads and filled roads will be available.

Philps shops in Porthleven, Marazion and Praze-an-Beeble have already reopened, on June 8, with the Camborne shop the following day and the Foundry shop in Hayle opening its doors on July 17.

Kesna said that the Helston opening had been slightly delayed due to the number of older staff who had been isolating during the pandemic.

She added: "I'm so excited to get back to work and see all our our regulars."
