CORNWALL'S hospital coronavirus death toll has risen for the first time in more than four weeks today.
Thursday's NHS England figures show an increase of one death, the first time the figure has changed since June 2.
The death occurred at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, with the total number of deaths there rising to 65.
The total for the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust remains at 26, giving a total of 91.
The NHS England figures, however, only cover deaths in hospitals.
The most recent figures for deaths in all settings in Cornwall – hospitals, care homes and the wider community – from the Office for National Statistics was 203.
Across England a further 35 people who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,794.
Patients were aged between 54 and 92 years old. Two patients, aged 54 and 84, had no known underlying health conditions, NHS England said.
Their families have been informed.
The death in Cornwall was the only one registered in the whole of the south west in today's figures.
As of Wednesday night there had been 595 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall.
