A section of the A30 has been closed this afternoon following a crash near Redruth.

One lane is shut between the Avers Roundabout and the Scorrier turn off, to the A3047.

It follows a single-vehicle crash on the eastbound carriageway at Scorrier at around 4.40pm.

A police spokesperson said a woman was in the care of ambulance paramedics, adding: "Injuries appear minor at this stage."

However, there are unconfirmed reports from an eye witness that the air ambulance was also seen flying overhead.

Traffic sensors are showing that there is heavy congestion as vehicles divert around the closure.
