Police have reissued an appeal asking the public for help in returning a wanted man to prison, after mistakenly announcing earlier today that he had been found.
Simon Robinson is being recalled to prison for breaching a restraining order, possession of an offensive weapon and threatening to commit criminal damage, police said.
The 33-year-old from Plymouth is believed to be in the Camborne, Pool and Redruth area and had been the subject of a previous appeal to find him.
This morning Devon and Cornwall Police issued an update to say that Robinson had been located by police and thanked the public for their assistance.
However, officers have this afternoon reissued their appeal as the statement had been put out in error.
As a result, anyong who sees Robinson or knows of his whereabouts should still contact police by emailing 101@dc.police.uk or calling 101, quoting log 0140 of 28/06/2020.
He is described as being white, around 6ft 3ins tall and of medium build with short light brown hair.
A police spokesperson cconfirmed: "Simon Robinson, aged 33 and from Plymouth, is currently still outstanding and wanted by police."
