Maureen Neathway said: “I doubt it, I prefer to support the small local shops in the town, especially as some of those are so good. But I am sure it will do well, especially sadly as Barrow no longer has one. I live in Grange so will probably still go to Kendal as I can then use the general store as well.”

John Wadsworth New said: “Nope. It’s a betrayal of the staff and customers in Barrow. Surely they could have taken on the old Aldi and had a food hall in Barrow as they announced this long before DFS decided to open there.”

Lesley Fenton said: “No won’t be traveling that far for the amount of food I need don’t have a car so would mean busing all the way not worth it sadly.”

Steven Thomason said: “Yes. Their food and drink selection are very good. Also click and collect on clothes service will be used too. Glad most of its staff have been kept on.”

Catherine O’Neill said:”Don’t think so. I live in Ulverston, but the food is too dear at Marks and Spencers.”

Lorraine Huddart said: “No. I won’t visit. I will not be travelling to Ulverston for a shop that has closed its doors here.”

Carol Thompson said: “I will be sad to see the Barrow store close I food shop there twice a week and they sell good quality clothing feel sorry for their loyal staff. Won’t be worth going to town anymore.”

Lee Thompson said: “No I’m not travelling an extra 10 miles to visit a single store especially now that they will only be selling food and not any of the clothing/home items.”
