As Flambards theme park prepares to reopen in Helston this weekend here is all you need to know about the changes in place.

Like other visitors attractions across Cornwall, the park has been forced to put a number of new measures in place to continue to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Top of these is that the park will be limiting the amount of visitors each day, meaning people now need to pre-book tickets online, either in advance or on the day of their visit subject to space.

There is a ten per cent discount off the ticket price when booking online and tickets will be valid for the 'seven days for the price of one offer', meaning visitors can return to the park again for free within the same week.

The park is also currently offering a season pass discount, which gives unlimited free entry to the park up to October 29 for £40 per pass - a reduction of £15 on the normal £55 cost.

In both cases, visitors on their return visit are asked to arrive from midday to allow for general admissions in the morning.

The vast majority of rides and indoor attractions will be open again from this Saturday, including the Victorian Village.

However, a few will remaining closed until further notice – Space Race, Cyclocopters, The Pirate Ship, Exploratorium and the indoor/outdoor play areas - due to these being more difficult to socially distance in and manage cleaning, although this is subject to change.

The park has also had to cancel its summer entertainment programme this year, including the popular Fireworks Spectaculars.

Staff have introduced a series of additional cleaning and hygiene measures on site and queue markers are in place to help visitors keep a safe distance apart.

Manager Richard Smith said: “We’re delighted to be able to start welcoming visitors back but we also know how crucial it is that they and our team feel safe.

“We’ve allowed ourselves a little extra time to ensure everything is fully in place and we’re confident we’ve been able to accommodate a range of protective measures without compromising the visitor experience."

Visitors will be encouraged to leave plenty of space around their vehicles in the car park and additional cleaning stations have been installed around the park.

A number of catering facilities will be open, as well as the gift shop, and visitors will need to use contactless card payments whenever possible.

Any visitor who has a temperature, or is showing any other signs of coronavirus, will be asked to stay at home and Flambards will re-schedule their visit for a future date.

A full list of safety measures and guidelines are available to view on the Flambards website.
