A spokesperson for the police said that the family of James Mitchell, 41, who was reported missing from Camborne on June 6, had been informed of the discovery.
The spokesperson added: "The family of James have been informed of the discovery and formal identification is yet to take place.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
