Coronavirus deaths in Cornwall in July on map of towns and areas

The interactive map by the Office for National Statistics breaks the figures down into larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, although some groupings cover a greater area than others.

Last month the Packet reported on the locations of all deaths relating to Covid-19 that had been recorded during March, April and May.

Now a new map has been published that shows there are just fives areas of Cornwall that have not seen at least one death relating to the virus to date.

These are St Day and Lanner; Grampound Road, St Newlyn East and Cubert; St Breward, Trenethy and Lanivet; Crackington and Tintagel; and Mid Saltash.

There have also been no recorded deaths on the Isles of Scilly at this time.

The map has also been updated to show the location of deaths during June, which were registered by July 11.

All figures relate to deaths where coronavirus (Covid-19) was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.

Only one death was registered in Cornwall's hospitals during June, registered on June 2.

However, the Office for National Statistics has been collating numbers for all settings - including hospitals, care homes and the wider community - and map indicates that there were four deaths registered in Cornwall overall.

According to the map these were in the Crowan, Wendron and Stithians area; the Lanreath, Pelynt and Polruan area; Liskeard; and the Dobwalls, Addington and Menheniot area.

So far in July there has been just one death in Cornwall's hospitals to date, registered on July 2.

As of today the overall total number of deaths in the county's hospitals sits at 91 since the start of the pandemic.

In Tuesday's update from the Office for National Statistics the overall total number of deaths rose to 208 deaths in total, with four in July to date.
