A Sunday market is coming to Helston next month – and organisers are looking for help.

The Helston Community Interest Company (CIC) has been given National Lottery funding to hold the event on August 30, to show of local art, crafts and food being produced in the local area.

It is to be held in the Trengrouse Wary Extension Car Park, with permission from Cornwall Council, between 11am and 4pm, and will be free to both visit and sell at.

The CIC said: “We are seeking expressions of interest from persons interested in having a free pitch at the market.

“The venue is enclosed by a high wall, which will enable controlled access.

“Full Covid-19 regulations will be enforced to ensure the safety of exhibitors and members of the public.”

The arts and crafts industry has been hit hard by the pandemic, with a large number of events cancelled in recent months and going forward.

Anyone interested in taking part in the market should contacted Malcolm Oliver from the CIC by emailing enquiries.hcic@gmail.com or calling 07903 118870 as soon as possible.

The group is also looking for volunteers to help set up and remove equipment, marshal the event and ensure it is Covid-19 compliant throughout.
