In another bid to help the community, The Rotary Club of Falmouth has made a further donation of £1,000 to Cornwall Air Ambulance.

President of the Rotary Club, Glenn Wilkes, said: “The affect the Coronavirus is having in reducing fundraising opportunities for charities such as Rotary does not mean that we are stopping our support for local community needs.

"The air ambulance is a critical resource for Cornwall and we are delighted to make this donation.”

The club has been an increasing supporter of the community in recent years, stepping into many areas where Local Authority funding has withdrawn.

Members are active in supporting FalCare, the Memory Café, the Dracaena Centre and Young Carers, to mention just a few.

Gemma Collins, community fundraiser for Cornwall Air Ambulance, responded to the Rotarians by saying: “On behalf on the charity and our patients’ families, I would like to thank you all for your continual support.

"Your incredibly kind donation of £1,000 towards our “Future Lives Depend on You” campaign, will go towards our running costs, ensuring that the we can maintain our operational hours so that our crew of Critical Care Paramedics, are ready to respond to someone in their moment in need.”
