A three-year-old child was taken to hospital last night after a serious crash on the A30.

A woman in her 40s was also taken by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, following a collision at Loggans Moor roundabout, Hayle,

Police were called at 10pm on Thursday, following reports of a collision involving a grey Suzuki Vitara and a silver Peugeot 207.

The child was later found to have suffered cuts and bruises and the woman had serious injuries to her ribs.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have relevant dash cam footage to get in touch.

A force spokesperson said: "Investigating officers are also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed a grey Suzuki Vitara travelling westbound on the A30 prior to the collision, and for them to contact police."

Local police officers, as well as those from the Roads Policing Team, closed the road for a forensic examination of the scene.

"Once a full examination of the scene was conducted the roads were re-opened.

"Officers would also like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed," added the spokesperson.
