Police have this morning given an update on a holidaymaker who went missing while staying in Cornwall last week.

On Friday officers appealing for help from the public in finding Joe Summerfield, who had been staying in Newquay but had not been seen since 11am the previous day.

The 23-year-old, who normally lives in Brighton, had last been seen in the Goonhavern/ Rejerrah area.

A large search of the area began, with officers local to Joe's home address also getting involved.

This morning a force spokesperson confirmed that Joe had now been found safe.

They said: "Police who were searching for missing man Joe Summerfield have confirmed he has been located safe and well in the East Sussex area.

"Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance."
