A MAN is due to appear in court today (Friday) after a man was stabbed in Penzance on Wednesday.

Police have charged a 35-year-old Penzance man with attempted wounding and possession of offensive weapons following the incident in the Heamoor area.

Officers were called to an address in Parc Mellan at around 12.40pm following reports of an assault.

A man aged in his 50s suffered a stab wound to his shoulder and was taken to hospital.

His injury is not life-threatening or life-changing, police said.

A police spokesperson said: "Daniel Fielding – also known as Daniel Tutt – aged 35, of no fixed abode, Penzance, has been charged with Section 18 attempted wounding and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

"Fielding has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 21."
