Police are hunting a bare-chested man with tattoos who is the suspected in an assault that left the victim with a fractured jaw.

Officers want to speak with witnesses to the attack in Redruth, which took place in Falmouth Road at around 10.30pm on Wednesday last week, August 19.

The 35-year-old victim, a local man, was found seriously injured on the pavement and had to be taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro for his injuries.

A police spokesperson said: "It is believed that he had been punched several times by another man in an unprovoked attack."

The investigating officers are looking for a suspect who is described as white, aged in his 20s or 30s, around 5ft 10ins tall and of stocky build.

He was believed to be bare chested and had distinctive tattoos on his right arm.

The force spokesperson added: "Officers are seeking witnesses and are keen to speak with anyone who was in the Falmouth Road area between 10.15pm and 10.45pm on the night of the offence.

"They would also like to hear from anyone who may possess CCTV footage or relevant dash cam footage from the area that night."
