A woman is in a critical condition following a horror crash on the A30 yesterday (September 2).
The collision took place at around 1.13pm on the eastbound carriageway of the A30 between Victoria and Innis Downs.
It involved a black Ford Transit and a white and red Mitsubishi recovery truck.
The recovery truck was stationary as the recovery driver was attending to a broken down black Peugeot 308 and its occupants.
The Ford Transit collided with the rear of the recovery truck.
The driver of the Ford Transit, a 64-year-old man from Wales, escaped injury.
Sadly a 79-year-old local woman from the broken down Peugeot sustained serious injuries.
She was taken to Derriford Hospital in a critical condition.

Significant damage was caused to all vehicles, with the Ford Transit rolling on to its side.
Officers from the Alliance’s Roads Policing Team attended the scene and started an investigation of the scene with officers working to establish the cause of the collision.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and may also have dash-cam footage.
