Fan-favourite ice cream seller Mr Tee King of Desserts is giving Helston a second chance after the town missed out on a visit earlier in the summer.

The seller of frozen sweet treats, who sees huge queues wherever he goes, has launched another public vote over where he should visit this evening.

In the running are Helston, Porthleven and Falmouth, which won the vote back in July and saw queues of at least 40 minutes.

Mr Tee has now written on his Facebook page: “Day three of our latest tour down in the Duchy. Sunday is officially the best day of the week for a delicious and tasty Mr Tee’s treat so we expect this contest to be a very close one!

“May the sweetest toothed town win.”

People must visit his visit Facebook page to vote with a symbol – a heart for Helston, a thumbs up for Falmouth and a ‘wow’ face for Porthleven.

As of this moment Helston is in the lead with 276 votes, followed by Falmouth with 228 and Porthleven with 16.

Dubbing himself 'The best ice cream man in the world', Mr Tee, who is originally from Wrexham, travels the UK in his ice cream van, visiting secret locations before announcing them on Facebook, causing a mass rush of people eager to try out his different inventions.

He has now amassed something of a cult following, with thousands of people viewing his videos on YouTube.

Last month similar sounding, but not associated, Mr Whippi King of Desserts set up at Helston Rugby Club and queues of up to two hours were reported.
