A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the road between Helston and Redruth on Sunday evening.

Police said the crash happened at around 6.20pm and involved a motorcycle and a car on the B3297.

It happened at a T-junction in the Nine Maidens area.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A white Renault Kangoo has approached the T-junction from an unclassified road to join the B3297.

"Two motorcycles were travelling in convoy along the B3297 when the Renault and one of the motorcycles collided, causing serious injuries to the motorcyclist, who was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

"Any witnesses to the collision who haven’t already spoken to police are asked to contact 101, quoting log 893 of September 6, 2020, especially [if they have] any dashcam footage.

"Police would like to thank the members of the public for their patience whilst we investigated the scene.
