FIREFIGHTERS dealt with two incidents in Falmouth on Sunday.

A crew from the town's fire station was called to land off Trescobeas Road at around 2.45pm to deal with a corn field on fire.

On arrival they found a fire with a 40 metre front and requested that a second appliance from Truro was mobilised to the scene.

Firefighters used one hose reel jet and beaters to extinguish the fire.

Later, at 5.48pm, a crew from Falmouth was sent to Bar Road to deal with a bin on fire next to a bus shelter.

They used a hose and a hay fork to damp down the fire.
