The main road between Falmouth and Helston was partially blocked this morning following a crash.

Traffic remained heavy after building up in both directions for some time afterwards, as a result of the crash on the A394.

This is understood to have taken place near the Seworgan turn off.

Traffic sensors showed heavy congestion between Edgucmbe and Carnebone.

Both lanes fully reopened just before 11am, but there remained some build up for a while as a result of the earlier blockage and resulting queues.

The surrounding back roads were also said to be heavily built up with vehicles, as drivers tried to find alternative routes.

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called to the A394 Helston at around 9am this morning with a report of a single vehicle RTC.

"Occupants were checked over by an ambulance crew, no injuries were reported.

"Vehicle recovery was required."
