Top was 216.5ppk for a very shapely red Limousin steer from CJM Shackleton, Wiveliscombe, who sold another similar shapely type at 203.5ppk. Very smart Limousin cross Devon steer at 212.5ppk from Habberfield Bros, North Newton. Best type Limousin steer at 207.5ppk from J & S Vinnicombe & Son, Ottery St Mary. Barley Blue at 198.5ppk SER Hunt, Kilve. Better type Simmental also 198.5ppk from RJ & AM Pedrick, Buckfastleigh. Feeding Limousins at 198.5 and 198ppk from Brightley Farms, Umberleigh. Further feeding Limousin at 198ppk again from A & P Bradford, Bawdrip. Angus steers at 197ppk twice from HJ & HB Case Ltd, Highbridge.

Steers sold to £1,438.64 for a grand 784kg Charolais from CG, GR & MS Spiller, Upottery. Good 714kg Limousin at £1,370.88 from JM Darby, Bishops Lydeard. Good Blue at 196ppk (640kg) from DF Rawlins, Ashill, who sold a well fleshed butchers Limousin (600kg) at 194.5ppk. Run of good lightweight feeding Blues at 194 (535kg) 194 again (516kg) 193 (560kg) 192.5 (584kg) 192 (546kg) 191.5 (535kg) and 191.5 again (541kg) from SA Taylor, Shepton Mallet. Greenslade Taylor Hunt report an increased entry of cull cows met another very firm trade. A shortage of shape and farm assurance on the suckler side but plenty of flesh in the dairy breeds and trade was very solid indeed.

Top was 146.5ppk for a very smart Limousin (non assured) from MG Trevelyan, Wellington. Good meat assured Simmental at 138.5ppk from PA Kingston, Crewkerne, who also sold an Angus cow at 132.5ppk. Angus topped at 138.5ppk from MR & SK Westcott & Son, who sold another pedigree bred at 129.5ppk.

Sucklers sold to £1,127.95 for a 871kg pedigree Angus from MR & SK Westcott & Son, who sold another at £1,040.14 (751kg). Simmental at £1,126.01 (813kg) from PA Kingston.

Dairy breeds very, very solid. Greenslade Taylor Hunt report another good number entry of 1343 lambs but overall a reduced quality. Trade was very strong for the heavier and best quality but generally easier for the lighter/leaner types. The best sold to 212ppk from PJ Holloway. Others 210ppk from RC Stock; 208ppk from T &I Collard, Milborne Wick Farms Ltd and GB & MA Holloway; 207ppk from Milborne Wick Farms Ltd, OJ & DJ Nelmes and WGF Chave & Son; 206ppk from AJ & RG Barber and 205ppk from Wallmead Farms Partnership, RJ & SA Rowe Farms Ltd, J Peaster and W Baker.
