Two people were left trapped in their car after a crash on the Helston to Penzance road last night.

Fire crews and ambulance staff were called to Rosudgeon just after 10pm yesterday by police, who reporting a single-vehicle collision.

Witnesses said that a car had rolled, close to the Coach and Horses pub.

Firefighters from Penzance and Tolvaddon were sent, along with a station manager from Hayle.

South Western Ambulance Service also confirmed that it was aware of the incident and had sent two ambulances and an operations officer to the scene.

A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Critical Control received a call from police reporting a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle on its side with at least one person trapped inside.

"On arrival crews found two persons trapped inside the vehicle.

"Police officers put road closures in place while fire crews used crash rescue equipment to release the trapped casualties, who were treated by ambulance crews."
