Very slow traffic has been reported on the A39 due to roadworks between the Norway Inn and Treluswell roundabout today.

The problem is being caused by essential roadworks which are being carried out by Cornwall Council.

The road between Arch Hill roundabout and Trelusswell is being closed from 7pm to 6am every night to make way for essential maintenance.

This is to allow Cormac to carry out general maintenance, gully emptying and surface works.

But during the day, traffic controls are in place which are slowing down traffic.

The closure order will remain in force for three months, although Cornwall Council said the work is expected to be completed by Friday.

Access will remain for emergency services, traffic associated with the works and any vehicle being used by an undertaker in an emergency, to fix a loss of utility supplies or with permission of a police officer.

However, the works are still causing hold ups for drivers trying to get to and from Falmouth and Truro on the last day before England’s lockdown.
