A STRUGGLING theatre company is appealing to members of the public to help them stage a comeback by forming a special club to help see them through the darkest days of the lockdown.

Helston Theatre Company has started its very own “100 Club” where people pay £5 a month to enter a prize draw to help the company survive the lockdown to be able to put on shows once again in the future.

"It's a tricky time for the arts right now," the group says in an appeal on Facebook. "We want to create fantastic shows for you to enjoy but due to current restrictions this isn't possible.

"During the pandemic we have had no income from our usual sources, such as ticket sales, membership and show fees. However, there are outgoings for items such as storage, insurances etc. which still need to be met.

"With this in mind we have started a “100 Club” to ensure its finances continue to be sustainable until they can stage their normal larger scale productions once again.

"It's just £5 a month to be part of the 100 Club. 50% of each draw will go to the winners of the monthly draw, and 50% will support Helston Theatre Company.

"We know people’s circumstances change, particularly during the pandemic, so you are able to join, leave or pause your membership at any time."
