The latest positive coronavirus test results in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have been published.

As of 4.17pm today (November 12) the data shows that a further 83 positive cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of positive test results recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to 2,969 since the start of the pandemic.

This represents a rate of 519.2 cases per 100,000 people since the start of the pandemic, which is still far lower than many parts of the country where the majority of local authorities has a rate of over 1,000 or 2,000 people - and in some parts more than 4,000 people per 100,000.

There have been 387 cases confirmed in the seven days leading up to November 7. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete. This represents a weekly rate of 67.7 cases per 100,000 people.

Nationally, there were 33,470 new cases recorded in the UK, bringing the total to 1,290,195 since the start of the pandemic.

The most recent figures from the Office National Statistics, released yesterday, showed that there have been no new deaths relating to coronavirus in Cornwall registered in the preceding week.

The statistics from the ONS, which has been collating data for deaths in all settings, including hospitals, care homes and the wider community, relate to the week of October 24 to October 30, but were registered to November 7.

The total number of hospital deaths in Cornwall remains at 94, with 68 of them recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and 26 at the Cornwall Partnerships NHS Trust.

It means that Cornwall’s overall coronavirus death toll remains at 213 in the ONS figures.

There have been no further deaths in Cornwall in the last 24 hours, but nationally a further 317 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 35,640.

Patients were aged between 33 and 98 years old. All except nine (aged 48 to 81 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from October 10 to November 11. Their families have been informed.

There have been 14 deaths recorded in the south west in the past 24 hours.
