It was an early start for two coastguard teams in west Cornwall after a 999 call raised fears that someone had fallen from the cliff at Porthleven.
The port's rescue team was paged at 6.11am, which called for back up from neighbouring Mullion team members shortly before 6.45am.
It was over reports that a person had fallen from Tye Rock.
A Mullion CRT spokesperson said: "Just as the teams arrived and began looking for the casualty, they were found walking back towards our vehicle having self recovered."
A Porthleven CRT spokesperson explained further: "The team carried out a search and found the casualty back at the top of the cliff with minor injuries."
They went on to thank their coastguard volunteer colleagues in the neighbouring team, adding: "Thanks to Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team for the back up.
"Sorry to have got you up!"
