On Remembrance Sunday teenager Ethan Fairbrother ran 11 miles to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Fifteen-year-old army cadet Ethan, who attends Mullion School, ran from Helston to his Ruan Minor in just one hour and ten minutes, raising total of £1,210.

Ethan said: “I ran to help those who gave everything for us to be here. It was the least I could do.

"As a cadet and a relative of servicemen, I felt that it would be wrong to just sit around and do nothing, so I decided to give something back to those who gave all.”

Ethan said he wanted to do something to replace the remembrance event he would normally have taken part in as a member of Helston's army cadets unit, as the parade was cancelled due to the coronavirus restrictions.

The Mullion School pupil completed a similar challenge back in May, raising £520 for the Royal British Legion through a ten km run on VE Day, after the Ten Tors event he had been training for was unable to go ahead.
