Part of the main road between Falmouth and Truro has been reopened following an earlier crash - that then led to a second one involving a lorry and a house.

It means anyone trying to use the A39 or find an alternative route ran into some difficulties and disruption earlier this morning.

The first collision took place at Arch Hill, involving a car and varying reports of a telegraph pole or a street light, which has been dislodged and is blocking the road.

The result was that the main road had to be closed while the pole was fixed.

Heading from the Falmouth direction, the A39 was shut at the Carnon Downs roundabout.

The Falmouth and Helston Police team said at the time: "Apologies for any inconvenience caused."

However, officers have since given an update to say that the main road has now been cleared and is reopen to traffic.

Following the first colllision a second one was then reported, on one of the diversion routes.

Traffic reports showed a secondary collision on Old Falmouth Road, between the A39 and Mill Lane.

A lorry is said to have collided with a house, causing slow traffic in that area also.

The report states: "This has happened as traffic was diverting around the A39 closure for a separate accident."

It is understood this road is still blocked as a result.
