The latest Covid case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has been published.

In the most recent update, as of 5.37pm on Tuesday, the local authority area is shown to have 35 new cases recorded in the preceding 24 hours.

The government website states that the total number of cases in the local authority area now sits at 3,625.

There were 357 cases recorded in the seven days lead up to November 20. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 62.4 cases per 100,000 people, with the rolling rate steadily dropping over the previous few days.

The UK had 18,213 new cases reported, bringing the total to 1,557,007 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

A hospital death in Cornwall was recorded on Saturday - at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.

The patient died on Thursday, November 19 after testing positive for coronavirus and it was noted in Saturday's figures from NHS England.

The total number of hospital deaths in Cornwall stands at 96, with 70 of them recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and 26 at the Cornwall Partnerships NHS Trust.

It will add one further death to Cornwall’s overall coronavirus death toll, which on Tuesday last week had risen to 214 in the Office for National Statistics figures, before this death occurred. No new ONS update had been given as the Packet went to press.

Nationally, a further 353 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 39,219.

Patients were aged between 20 and 98 years old. All except 16 - aged 38 to 92 years old - had known underlying health conditions, according to NHS England.

The dates of their death ranged from October 27 to November 24, 2020 with the majority being on or after November 17, and their families have been informed.

Of these, 17 people were from the south west, but none in Cornwall.
