The latest Covid case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has been published.

In the most recent update, as of 4pm today (Tuesday, December 1), the local authority area is shown to have 19 new cases recorded in the preceding 24 hours.

The government website states that the total number of cases in the local authority area now sits at 3,751.

There were 193 cases recorded in the seven days lead up to November 25. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 33.8 cases per 100,000 people.

The UK has had 13,430 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,643,086 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

No hospital deaths have been reported in Cornwall in the past week. The last confirmed death was last Saturday (November 21) at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.

The patient died on Thursday, November 19 after testing positive for coronavirus and it was noted in The figures from NHS England on Saturday, November 21.

The total number of hospital deaths in Cornwall stands at 96, with 70 of them recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and 26 at the Cornwall Partnerships NHS Trust.

A further 350 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 40,938.

Patients were aged between 31 and 98 years old. All except nine (aged 44 to 92 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

The date of their deaths ranged from October 25 to November 30, 2020 with the majority being on or after November 24.

Their families have been informed.

Of these, 31 people were in the south west, but none in Cornwall.
