Friends and family of murdered Falmouth man Aaron Pill have held a candelight vigil this evening in his memory.

The event called 'Stand In Solidarity- Aaron Pill’s Candle Vigil' took place this evening in Falmouth at 7.30pm. Today marks exactly seven months since his death.

It has been organised by family friend Martin Van Evelinge, who is encouraged people to light a candle in their home at the same time and standing in silence for one minute.

He said: "Aaron had his whole life ahead of him with his children, but two monsters shortened his life, Aaron will be respected always by many.
"As a community we want to show our respect to not just Aaron but his loved ones also."

Aaron's mum Caroline Johnson wrote on the event Facebook page: "Thank you for having respect for my son, as it will be seven months on the fourth that he was murdered in his own home and found by his younger brother, past midnight.

"Justice will be served on the 16th December."

On Wednesday a jury at Truro Crown Court found Kane Coggin, aged 27, of Meadowbank, Mylor Bridge and Liam Bastow, aged 24, of Avalon Close, Mylor Bridge, guilty of Aaron's murder on May 4 this year.

The pair had admitted manslaughter but had denied murdering Aaron at his home in Tresawle Road.

However, after two days of deliberation the jury in their trial decided they didn’t believe what they had been told and found both men guilty of murder over a £400 drug debt.

They are now due to be sentenced on December 16.
