A small number of new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Falmouth while part of Truro has seen a moderate spike in the last few days.

However, overall across Cornwall the number of cases has dropped again, while the number of cluster areas has more than halved in the last seven days.

This is the latest update on the government's coronavirus cluster map, as of 4pm today (Saturday).

It represents cases recorded in the seven days leading up to Monday this week, November 30. The most recent five days are left off due to incomplete data not reflecting the true number of cases.

Falmouth has made a reappearance on the map again, having dropped off in Wednesday's midweek update.

Clusters are only shown when there are at least three confirmed results, with anywhere having between zero and two cases showing white in order to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure."

The coronavirus clusters in Cornwall on Saturday's map

Falmouth is currently showing three cases, in the north of the town.

There has also been a spike in cases in part of Truro, which now has 15 confirmed cases across the city.

Of these, 11 of them are reported in Truro South & Central - a rise of eight cases week-on-week, and in the last three days since Wednesday's midweek update.

It represents a 266.7 per cent increase week-on-week and a seven-day rolling rate of 170.3 cases per 100,000 people.

This is compared to a rolling rate of only 24.7 cases per 100,000 people for Cornwall as a whole.

The latest update shows 141 new cases recorded in the last seven days, which is 149 fewer than a week ago.

And there are now only 18 cluster areas, compared to 39 on last Saturday's map.

The map shows positive cases by 'Middle Super Output Area' - the name the government gives to the break-up of larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, with groupings covering a greater area than others.

The minimum population each area is 5,000 and the average is 7,200
