A butchers shop in Helston has expanded its range into a cooked food and deli goods just in time for Christmas.

Dales Family Butchers, based at St John's, has moved from its previous building to the old St John's Chapel next door.

The larger premises means that not only has the butchery counter been able to move across, but the family have extended the range of what they sell.

The shop will now offer the butchery's own cooked meats and charcuterie, include smoked and non-smoked ham, turkey breast, beef and pork, together with a selection of Cornish cheeses, chutneys, jams, wines and lagers.

There will also be some baked goods, such as homemade pork pies.

Justine Dale is heading up the deli side, while her brother Curtis is now leading the butchers that their father Chris has been running for many years.

They are the sixth generation of the family to be running the butchery.

Justine said they'd received a good response from customers who had visited the new shop so far, adding: "It's been brilliant. Everyone is quite excited about it and being able to look around after the circumstances of Covid."

The pandemic has seen the opening of the deli put back from its intended launch at Easter.
