An opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Packet team and become a crucial part in its newspaper sales activity locally.

We are currently recruiting for a part-time merchandiser, who will be responsible for making sure our newspaper titles are well promoted and readily available in key stores across the region.

Main duties will include weekly delivering and setting up promotional material, running in-store promotions, displaying headline posters, placing extra copies of the newspapers when they run low and delivering other titles to selected stores on a monthly basis.

Building relationships with key customers and store teams is an important part of this role, which also involves some direct selling, working with our retail partners.

Previous experience in the role is not necessary, as full training will be given, but ideally you will have at least one year’s experience in a customer service or field-based role and have excellent organisational skills.

This role will suit someone with experience of working as part of a team, who can also accurately carry out a series of tasks on their own, meet deadlines and be able to react quickly to an ever-changing market.

This is a fixed-term job, for six months, in the first instance, working 12 hours a week on Wednesday and Friday.

A full, clean driving licence is needed.

The role offers a salary of £8.75 per hour, 25 days’ holiday pro rata and a company pension scheme.
