Police are concerned for the welfare of teenager who was seen wet through, hair frozen and blue in the face and not wearing any shoes after claiming she had fallen into a river.

The 16-year-old girl was last seen this morning at around 7:50am walking south on the B3311 at Gulval at the junction with Polmennor Road (Gear Hill) at the junction with Green Lane Hill.

She is described as white, 16 years, slim build with long dark hair wearing a black hoodie and no shoes. The teenager told concerned passers by she had fallen in to a river and lost her bag and wellies somewhere near Treveylor.

The police report says: "Police are concerned for the welfare of a 16 year old female.

"She was last seen Sunday 10th January 2021 at approximately 0750 walking south on the B3311 at Gulval at the junction with Polmennor Road (Gear Hill) at the junction with Green Lane Hill. "She is described as white female, 16 years, slim build with long dark hair wearing a black hoody and NO SHOES. Female had stated she fell in to a river and lost her bag and wellies somewhere near Treveylor."
