ALL care home residents in the Falmouth and Penryn have now been vaccinated against Covid 19 it has been announced.

Falmouth and Penryn Primary Care Networks (PCN) says it has managed this by all working together.

It says it is now waiting for further supplies of vaccine so they can invite more patients in to the surgery. People will be contacted when it is their turn for a vaccine.

Meanwhile it is asking people not to ring or email the surgery asking when and if they are eligible.

"We are getting overwhelmed with enquiries about the vaccine," they said.

Abacus Taxis are also helping by offering free rides to all those aged over 80 living in Falmouth and Penryn to any vaccine appointment.

"If you are over 80 or vulnerable and are unable to get to your vaccine appointment at the Health Centre, please call us and we will take you for free. Stay safe," said the company.

Meanwhile Helston Medical Centre & Porthleven Surgery has started its COVID vaccination clinics today.

Posting on Facebook it says all booked attendees can park in the Trengrouse Way Council car park (free of charge).

A team of volunteers will direct people down the road at Meneage Parc to its temporary entrance at the rear of the building where they will be greeted by the team and checked in.

"You may need to wait in the marquee but we hope not for long. From here you will see one of our ten vaccinators and have your vaccine before proceeding to our waiting room for a short period."

The surgery car park will be closed except for those with blue badges or to drop off. There is no entry through the usual entrance - this is exit only and a one way system.

"We are really looking forward to protecting the over 80s population of South Kerrier," said the centre. "Don’t worry if you, your friends/family haven’t been called yet. We will get to you soon.

"For other patients, the entrance to the surgery will be closed except for prescription collection. There is a new temporary entrance at the rear of the building during clinics for patients with booked appointments."
