A WARNING has been issued to people living in the Old Hill area of Falmouth after residents reported a number of suspected attempted break-ins.

Posting on Facebook Lily Lorenzo said that someone had tried to break into her property in the early hours of the morning by trying to pick her front door

"Just a heads up to locals," she said: "Someone tried to break into our home sometime in the early hours of the morning they tried to pick our front door lock and then sprayed something on it presumably to try and gain entry?

"Thankfully who ever it was didn't manage to get in. I have woke up this morning with a front door that I can't even get my key into now. I have called the relevant people and it will be fixed at some point today but just wanted others to be on their guard. This happened on Old Hill area."

She also said a neighbour had had her bedroom window smashed a few weeks ago.

"It seems to much of a coincidence how it people who live in the same area doesn't it. It is frightening I am now looking into how cheap can maybe get a couple of cameras up just so we're safe. All police will do is log it under anti social behaviour in the area and they say keep an eye on the area but I doubt it."

Replying Hayley Eastabrook also said she thought someone had got into her garden a week ago, which had left her terrified.

"This is terrifying...I think someone tried to break in or at least got into my garden (all they could steal was a bird feeder so uninteresting for them) about a week ago," she said. "I was indoors but I went to let my dog out and found both gates open, which doesn't just happen from the wind and too coincidental that it was both gates. I've since noticed that part of the panel has come away a tiny bit, indicating someone tried to pull it open quite hard.

"It really sent shivers down my spine as someone who was burgled twice when I was younger, and now lives alone. I'm also in the Old Hill area so knowing they are still around terrifies me."

Another poster said Zoe Finn - Rowland someone was trying her door a few weeks ago at around midnight in the flats on Old Hill

The Neighbourhood Beat Manager in Falmouth told the Packet this isn’t something they are aware of.
