The latest Covid-19 case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

As of 4pm today (Friday, February 5) there have been 90 new cases recorded in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic now sits at 12,787.

The seven-day rolling total of cases has now dropped well below 1,000 cases, having been above that figure since the start of the year, up to this week.

There were 897 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to January 30. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 151.6 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 19,114 in 24 hours.

This brings the total to 3,911,573 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

There have been three further hospital deaths in Cornwall reported today, one of which been recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust (RCHT) and two at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust (CPT).

This brings the total at RCHT to 147 and the total at CPT to 48.

There have now been 195 Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic.

The overall total number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has risen to 352 recorded in the 28 days after a positive test result, including six today.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 324, with this figure updated weekly. There was a rise of 43 in the most recent update.

Nationally, a further 537 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died in hospitals in England in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 74,786.

Patients were aged between 15 and 100 years old.

All except 21 - aged 45 to 98 years old - had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of their deaths ranged from December 17 to February 4, 2021 with the majority being on or after February 1.

Of these, 52 occurred in the south west.

The overall UK figures today show 1,014 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 111,264. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of today (Friday, February 5) 10,971,047 people in the UK have received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 505,993 people have had their second dose.
