The latest Covid-19 case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

As of 4pm today (Monday, February 7) there have been 78 new cases recorded in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic now sits at 12,982.

The seven-day rolling total of cases has now dropped to 578 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 3. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 101.1 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 14,104 in 24 hours.

This brings the total to 3,959,784 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

There have been no further hospital deaths in Cornwall reported today.

This leaves the total at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust at 152 and the total at Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust to 49.

There have now been 201 Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic.

The overall total number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – is now at 363 recorded in the 28 days after a positive test result, including two today.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 324, with this figure updated weekly. There was a rise of 43 in the most recent update, with the figures due to refresh on Tuesday.

Nationally a further 313 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 76,080.

Patients were aged between 16 and 108 years old. All except nine – aged 49 to 81 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of their death ranged from December 24, 2020 to February 7, 2021 with the majority being on or after February 3.

Of those six were in the South West.

The overall UK figures today show 333 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 112,798. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of today (Monday, February 8) 12,294,006 people in the UK have received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 512,581 people have had their second dose.
