The popular tourist attraction, Cornwall Gold, has been put up for sale for the first time in 30 years for a cool £2.5 million.

Sprawled across just over 18 acres of picturesque Cornish landscape, the award-winning destination is just two miles from the town of Redruth, in the traditional mining heart of Cornwall.

The business has been owned by FS Group for over 30 years and now a decision has been made to bring the property to market through Christie & Co so as to allow the group to focus on other businesses in their portfolio.

Alongside its modern looking commercial offerings, the leisure facility is also home to the Grade II listed mill works known as Tolgus Mill, Cornwall's last example of working tin mine.

As well as the mill, the attraction offers a range of family activities including the chance to ‘pan for gold’ or play a round of Krazy Golf.

Also featured on the property is a successful jewellery business, trading as Cornwall Gold & Cornwall Pearl, which allows customers to design and customise their purchases, as well as up cycle old jewellery.

The on-site restaurant and café, the Cornish Pantry, offers a selection of locally sourced Cornish produce and has become a favourite of both visitors and locals.

The agents have said the property lends itself to a range of uses, be it a continuation of the current owner’s business model 'Cornwall Gold' or a new venture, which utilises the extensive retail space on site.

There is also potential for further development of the site, subject to planning approval.

Stephen Champion, director in Christie & Co’s Hospitality team, said: "Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill present a truly rare opportunity to acquire a unique high profile visitor attraction in the heart of Cornwall.

"The property has significant upside and will offer a new owner the opportunity to build upon the vendor’s current business.

"We expect interest to come from a wide range of buyers including operators and investors.”

Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill is on the market on a freehold basis, with a guide price of £2,500,000.
