New cases of Covid-19 in Cornwall have dropped by more than a third while the number of clusters no long reporting the virus has risen to the highest since well before Christmas.
Latest figures from the Government dashboard show cases have fallen by 35.2% to see a total of 464 cases in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly in the seven days leading up to February 8, which is 252 fewer cases than last Saturday.
The most recent five days are not shown due to incomplete data.

There are now 18 clusters no longer showing new cases of Covid-19: St Just & Land’s End, Penzance Quay, Towednack, Lelant & Carbis Bay, St Ives & Halsetown, The Lizard, Probus & Roseland, Trebetherick & Whitecross, Liskeard, Saltash Town & Pillmere, Saltash Latchbrook & St Stephens, Callington & Pensilva, Gunnislake & Calstock, Launceston, Camelford & Tresmeer, Crackington & Tintagel, Poundstock & Kilkhampton and Bude & Stratton.
The map only shows clusters when there are at least three confirmed results, with anywhere with between zero and two cases shows white in order to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure."
Just 11 out of the 72 cluster areas on the map remain in double figures for the number of new Covid cases in a week: West Penwith & St Buryan (11), Marazion, St Erth & Gwinear Gwithian (42), Falmouth North (14), Pool & Illogan Highway (13), Illogan & Portreath (10), Redruth South (11), St Day & Lanner (12), Truro West (10), Perranporth & Goonhavern (21), Lostwithiel & Penwithick (10), Bodmin West (23), Bodmin East (10), and Kingsand, Antony & Maryfield (31).
However, there are two clusters where cases have more than double in a week – with one going from just two cases over seven days to 31.
This rise has been seen in Kingsand, Antony & Maryfield, across the water from Plymouth, representing a 1,450% increase on last week. It takes its rolling rate to 490.1 cases per 100,000 people – above the national case rate.
However, it is Marazion, St Erth & Gwinear Gwithian that has the highest number of new cases in today's update, with 42.
This is a rise of 26 on a week ago and gives it a rolling rate of 436.5 cases per 100,00 people, which is well above the national rate according to the Government dashboard.
The overall rolling rate for Cornwall has dropped to 81.1 cases per 100,000 people, which is a fall from 124.3 cases a week ago.
The map shows positive cases by 'Middle Super Output Area' - the name the government gives to the break-up of larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, with groupings covering a greater area than others.
The minimum population in each area is 5,000 and the average is 7,200.
