The latest information relating to Covid-19 in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

There have now been no further hospital deaths recorded for the fourth day running.

At Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust the total number of deaths still stands at 168, with the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust total remaining at 55.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic remains at 223.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has risen to 413 deaths in the 28 days after a positive test, including nine today.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate has risen to 423, with 45 recorded this week. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

A further 474 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 79,593.

Patients were aged between 26 and 99 years old. All except 17 – aged 38 to 93 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of the death ranged from April 1, 2020 to February 15, 2021 with the majority being on or after February 12.

Of those 27 were in the south west.

The overall UK figures today show 799 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 118,195. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Tuesday, February 16) there have been 35 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic now sits at 13,349.

The seven-day rolling total of cases is now 396 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 8. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 69.3 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 10,625 in 24 hours.

This brings the total to 4,058,468 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Tuesday, February 16) 15,576,107 people in the UK have received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 546,165 people have had their second dose.
