A new 'state of the art' high-tech manufacturing plant is set to open in June 2021 on a three-acre site just outside Falmouth.

The plant will be owned by Feritech, who are an independently-owned harsh environment engineering and technology company, based in Falmouth, and will be part of their current expansion plans.

Having started in marine technology, Feritech is looking to expand into new tech markets, including aerospace and telecomms and the company hopes that this venture will represent a valuable opportunity for Cornwall to establish itself as a regional centre for advanced manufacturing.

Rob Ferris, Feritech's managing director, said: "This will be a brand new facility here in Cornwall for design and build of advanced manufacturing solutions for any market sector.

"We want to work in collaboration with a wide range of tech businesses in Cornwall, helping turn their innovative, market-leading ideas into reality.

The company, which was founded in 2012, is made up of people ranging from subsea engineers to CAD designers and is currently working with global clients across all marine engineering sectors.

Their work includes designing and manufacturing retail equipment and systems, as well as providing a consultancy services, project support, data collection and analysis services.
