The latest information relating to Covid-19 in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

There have been no more hospital deaths recorded in today's figures, involving patients testing positive for Covid-19.

The total for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust remains at 180 while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the total number of Covid-related deaths also remains at 59.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic stays at 239.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remains at 434 deaths in the 28 days after a positive test, with no additions to today's figures.

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 423, with 45 recorded this week. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

A further 178 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 81,482.

Patients were aged between 25 and 101 years old. All except seven – aged 47 to 97 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of the deaths ranged from January 2 to February 21, 2021 with the majority being on or after February 18.

Of those, five were in the South West.

The overall UK figures show 178 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 120,757. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Monday, February 22) there have been 22 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,537.

The seven-day rolling total of cases was 242 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 17. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 42.3 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 10,641 in 24 hours.

This takes the total to 4,126,150 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Monday, February 22) 17,723,840 people in the UK had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 624,325 people had their second dose.
