Only 36 areas of England and Wales have recorded not a single death relating to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic – and four of them are in Cornwall.

This is the latest news from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which has looked at the figures for each cluster area.

In Cornwall, the four areas where no death has been recorded are: Mid Saltash; Torpoint; Grampound Road, St Newlyn East and Cubert; Crackington and Tintagel.

The Isles of Scilly has also not recorded any deaths involving someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

On the Government dashboard country is broken down into 'Middle Super Output Area' – the name the government gives to the break-up of larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, with groupings covering a greater area than others.

The minimum population in each area is 5,000 and the average is 7,200.
