The latest information relating to Covid-19 in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

There have been no hospital deaths recorded in today's figures, involving patients testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust remains at 189, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it is 61.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic is 250.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – is at 449 deaths in the 28 days after a positive test, with no rise in today's figures.

Following an anomaly in Wednesday's figures, the number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate is back to 473, with 50 extra registered in the week leading up to February 12, the most recent date given. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

A further 307 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 82,717.

Patients were aged between 34 and 100 years old. All except nine – aged 60 to 94 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.

The date of the deaths ranged from November 3, 2020 to February 25, 2021 with the majority being on or after February 19.

Of those, 21 were in the South West.

The overall UK figures show 345 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 122,415. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Friday, February 26) there have been 24 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,627.

The seven-day rolling total of cases was 204 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 21. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 35.7 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 8,523 in 24 hours.

This takes the total to 4,163,085 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Friday, February 26) 19,177,555 people in the UK had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 736,037 people had their second dose.
